Efren Gonzalez was born in Ajijic on Lake Chapala, Mexico, and is a prodigious painter in all media, particularly in oil, watercolor, pastel and acrylic. Efren is equally well known as a painter on canvas as well as a muralist, having completed his first intricate mural in the 90’s and many more since then in his beloved Ajijic. One of the few Ajijic born artists, Efren was inspired and taught by the local Neil James Art Education Program during his childhood before becoming a full time painter.
