Artist Statement – Pamela Thornley: My paintings have been inspired by my life & travels throughout the beautiful Gulf Islands and Vancouver Island.  My fascination & love for these places will never be exhausted.  I paint to capture, blend & share Nature’s elements with my own emotional responses. It is my hope that people will see & experience the natural world as I see it through my paintings.

Aspiring writers are told to “write what you know” – I believe in painting what I love.

I use acrylic paints as my medium and am mainly self taught through torturous & monotonous repetition & experimentation. Plus the kind words & amazing examples of the artists of the world.

Please enjoy these works & honour & appreciate what we still have here.
