Calling all Artists, Sculptors and Metal Fabricators! We want your submissions to create Artistic Bicycle Racks for the Shawnigan Lake Waterfront Trail.

The SRA has received funding from the Island Coastal Economic Fund to create four seating and bike rack areas at viewpoints along the Waterfront trail between Mason's Beach and Government Wharf Park. The vision sees the bicycle racks as public art pieces representative of the unique character of Shawnigan, combining form, function and local craftsmanship.
This is a great opportunity for a local artist, metal worker, blacksmith or other craftsman within the Cowichan Valley or environs to showcase their creativity. Concept Submissions will be received up to November 15, 2022. The work of the selected artist will be promoted throughout media channels by the SRA and CVRD.
