Wood Carving Workshop with Eric Petitclerc

Wood and a selection of tools will be provided so you'll have the opportunity to experiment. The day together will include: -Introduction and theory to better understand wood fibers and properties -Description of some tools and techniques, and a demonstration of how to make a spoon with hand tools -Hands-on carving all together -Lunchbreak (please bring a bagged lunch and full water bottle) -Sharpening basics -Continue carving together, with a sharpening station available With this new skill set, you will feel ready to shop for your own simple tools, select wood, and go on to carve more spoons, chopsticks, a little bowl—you decide!
