Driven to Abstraction
We are challenging artists to try abstraction as their creative style. Abstract art may seem spontaneous but it is actually very difficult to achieve the right visual space – without landscapes or people – that sends the viewers into journeys of their own.

About the event
For CVAC’s next member show, we are challenging artists to try abstraction as their creative style. Abstract art may seem spontaneous but it is actually very difficult to achieve the right visual space – without landscapes or people – that sends the viewers into journeys of their own. Artist Jackson Pollock said abstract painting is “Energy and motion made visible – memories arrested in space.” So whatever your medium or school (Cubism, Fauvism, Expressionism, Op or something beyond), join in. It will be an eye-catching show! Some of the pieces will be displayed up in the theatre lobby.
