About the event
Continuing Laveen’s exploration of the colour green-screen-green, alongside sculptural yarn tree forms, this work interrogates the production of world-making, constructs of reality, and the erasure of labour. Other ideas that inform and influence Gammie’s current inquiries include destruction, surveillance, possession, property, 'clean' aesthetic, and preservation. This immersive installation invites audiences to consider what is given authority or power, and the potential for individual and collective world-making within the manufactured and natural labours of nature. The work will be available to view beginning Saturday, April 1st, with a group artist talk/conversation alongside Tanya Lukin-Linklater and Camille Georgeson-Usher scheduled for Saturday, April 22nd, to launch our Spring programming.
